Basello

Every rotation creates new shapes and functions.
The Basello is an invention object. It can be used in a different way with each rotation. While it remains a simple side table at first glance, it carries a very touching back story. Achille used this invention to sit with his daughter. She would sit on the higher level and this allowed them to face eachother at the same eye level. It was also used as a step ladder, as well as a writing desk for kids. This is only a glimpse into Achille's magic. He used his life experiences, his relationship with his daughter, to invent objects full of life.

Castiglioni Brothers
Shop nowAchille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni were born in Milan in 1918 and 1913. Together with brother Livio (1911-1979), they were closely dedicated to their design work from a young age, researching new forms, techniques and materials. As a partnership, Achille and Pier Giacomo designed objects for companies such as Kartell, Zanotta, FLOS, Bernini, Siemens and Knoll, among others. Their collaboration with Brionvega came about thanks to brother Livio, already a design consultant with the Brion company and also responsible for the Zanuso/Sapper duo’s involvement with the brand.

Cappellini
Shop now1946 Enrico Cappellini opens a small workshop in Carugo, a small town a few steps from Como and Milan, producing traditional pieces of furniture according to the artisan traditions of the Brianza area.
